SwissDoorstop turned 21 and to celebrate we made a new, improved cheese with OG designer Stafford Schmool (né Andrew Stafford), launched at 4.COSE in Vyner Street, London in September 2025.

Stafford Schmool invented the SwissDoorstop in 2004. It was developed and manufactured by our own company Randomproduct. It quickly became a bestseller and favourite of happy, discerning folk. Design Museum director Alice Rawsthorn nominated it as her best Xmas gift of 2005.

We were honoured when Dr Alberto Alessi asked to make our prototype SwissDoorstop part of the incredible Museo Alessi collection alongside Castiglioni, Mari, Sottsass et al.

Stafford Schmool designed the fabulous Toklas Restaurant & Bakery at 180 Strand, London. Over a 40 year career he has worked with amazing people and designed furniture for SCP, FUEL, Sonos, AHMM, The Barbican & Magis; interiors for Kate MacGarry Gallery, Gavin Turk & Deborah Curtis, Prettybird, Bloomberg, Julia Royse POSTED & Brinkworth; exhibitions for SwissDoorstop, British Council, Jenny Lewis, London 2012 Olympics.
